Bagasse handling
Bagasse is transported from Kous sugar mill to QPIC depithing plant by belt conveyors where the pith is removed from the raw bagasse .
Bagasse is then washed in pulpers from where it is pumped to the storing yard and piled in four large heaps occupying an area of about 60000 m2. Continuous water is showered on the piles to avoid fermentation and fibers , degradation .
The plant is handling daily about 2000 BDT of bagasse during the five months crushing season .
The bagasse is supplied to the pulp mill on belt conveyors at a daily rate of about 600 BDT allover the year .
